January 29 2019

Accompanying Paul Burns (qualified AHPRA Acupuncturist, Chinese Medicine Practitioner and level 1 Ziran Qigong instructor), Helen Handsjuk will be conducting Ziran Qigong classes in Geelong, with the first class kicking off tomorrow, Wednesday the 30th January at Geelong City Yoga (see info at Geelong Yoga or email info@geelongyoga.com.au)

Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a Chinese term that refers to a collection of exercises and movements that aim at integrating both the body and mind.  With Ziran Qigong being refined through many years to take an approach that modern people can readily understand.

“The main aim of Ziran Qigong is to obtain an understanding of one’s mind and body and the link between the two” (Master Liu Deming, 5th generation Lineage holder).

Helen Handsjuk is a registered psychologist, trained in New York in bodypsychotherapy and dynamic meditation. More recently Helen has obtained a Probationary Level 1 Ziran Qigong instructor, training under her accompanying instructor for these classes – Paul Burns and Shifu Adam Martin of 5 Elements Kung Fu Torquay. Helen also undertook a comprehensive 3 week training course in the home of Qigong – China, under the direct guidance of Master Liu Deming.

Helen has had a long-standing involvement in the integration of the mind and body and its importance in health and well being. So these classes will give participants an opportunity to experience first hand the benefits of such integration.

Under the primary instruction of Paul Burns (pictured below) – who also practises at the Geelong Chinese Medicine Clinic, the classes aim at enabling participants of the class to understand the basic and intermediate intricacies of this Chinese practice. It will also allow Geelong residents to experience and enjoy the benefits of incorporating Qigong into their daily routine.
