Do I need a referral to see Helen Handsjuk?

No, you do not need a referral to book an appointment.

However, if you would like to claim Medicare rebates, you will need to organise a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. The number of sessions will be stipulated by your GP. Medicare limits the number of claimable sessions to 10 in a calendar year.

Please be aware that Medicare does not apply to appointments for couples.

Can I claim on my private health insurance?

Many private health funds offer rebates for psychology services. Rebates will vary depending on your insurer and level of cover.

You cannot claim for both Medicare and private health rebates for the same appointment.

Individual and couple sessions with Helen Handsjuk run for approximately 50 minutes in duration. Group sessions vary in duration depending on requirements.

How do I pay for my appointment?

All payments are to be made via bank transfer.

Payments must be made prior to attending your appointment.

Helen will provide you with a receipt on the day of service.

You will need to process your claim independently with Medicare or with your health insurance provider.
